There is nothing wrong with downloading a video file and realizing that it is not playing properly or being damaged in some way.
You usually have no choice but to find an alternative version to download but not to repair your digital videos. You can repair AVI files in various incomplete download scenarios, such as completely not copying a CD, DVD, or other source, and the AVI file is not fully downloaded from the Internet in a P2P application, such as eDonkey or BitTorrent. It can also be helpful if you find that the video is frozen during playback rather than fast-forwarding or rewinding, or if the play button simply goes nowhere. Well, that’s a theory anyway. In practice, there are so many reasons why files cannot be played, including corrupt codecs and download files, so it is impossible for any program to solve all your problems. There is, of course, a simple problem with CDs and DVDs that don’t read properly and don’t have much to do.
